IMED Healthcare was established in 2007 by Paul Murphy and Laurence O’Kane. It has grown successfully, both organically and through acquisition, to be a leading Pharmaceutical Wholesaler on the island of Ireland.
Both Founders are serial healthcare, wholesale medicines and pharmaceutical entrepreneurs.
In 2016 they were also both founder shareholders of Mediteq, a market leading infection control products and services business exclusively serving the acute hospital market in Northern and Southern Ireland.
Both Founders have a shared ethos of investing in their local communities, providing jobs and long-term careers for the next generation, promoting core family values and improving healthcare outcomes.

Paul Murphy
Director
Paul Murphy held numerous commercial and leadership roles with AstraZeneca prior to identifying the market opportunity for IMED. He is Vice Chairperson of the Association of Irish Pharmaceutical Parallel Distributors and a Director of the Irish Medicines Verification Organisation.
Laurence O'Kane
Director
Laurence O’Kane is a highly regarded pharmacist and founder of Pharmacy Supplies, one of Ireland’s largest distributor to front of shop community pharmacy. He was a successful Irish Finalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2019 programme.
